Well, over the last few weeks, I’ve been interviewing people. It’s amazing how much time it takes out of your week! The task was made slightly tougher by one of the positions being my own. Believe me, trying to find someone to replace yourself is incredibly difficult! It’s all made slightly worse by that niggling feeling that I’ve got to set about writing my own CV too. But, with any luck I’m hoping we’ve finally done it, and life at work can return to normal.

This weekend, I have done some work on my site, and got the gallery to work, and a few other parts of the site tidied up. It’s a slightly sad way to spend your spare time, I know. But it’s something I really want to be just right so I can share my forthcoming adventure with everyone I know.

Elsewhere, I’ve not had much spare time. I did manage to see Serenity at the cinema. For anyone that likes sci-fi, I’d highly recommend it! For those that don’t, it’s lightheartedness should make it a film you definitely try to catch! By the way, I kind of felt that squeezing the name into the title of this Blog seemed quite appropriate as it’s a nice word I don’t normally get to use. Sadly, the last few weeks have been anything but serene.

Most of my time seems to revolve around work, the gym or planning my trip at the moment. I did have one of those life and death moments the other day where my mountain bike decided to do something rather odd. Thankfully, I managed to avoid hitting a tree when it happened, but now it’s in need of repairs. The trouble is, I’m only here for 4 more weeks, so is it worth it. Actually, that’s silly question, I love getting out on my bike, so I will get it repaired this week so I can enjoy a few more rides before I leave.

At this time of year, there’s lots of fireworks to be seen, but over the last few years, I’ve not been to one. This year, I went to 2, and to be honest, I think it’s a shame that as you grow older, that kind of thing loses it’s appeal. Why is that? The bangs and colours are still the same – if not better as even in those circles I imagine the technology moves on. Also, slightly annoying when a piece of shrapnel from the Super Bazooka 5000 rocket (or whatever they’re called now) hits you on the head. I wouldn’t of minded so much, but I’m trying desperately to hold onto the bit of hair I have left!

I don’t know, maybe I’m getting old before my time, or perhaps in this age of pocket game machines and 52″ plasma, things like that are losing their appeal. Perhaps it’ll all seem so much better when I get back from my trip…
