So, after talking about it for so long, I’ve finally bought the ticket. With the help of Trailfinders, I now have a One World round the world ticket! My route is:
WED 07 DEC LONDON (HEATHROW) to TOKYO (NARITA)
WED 21 DEC TOKYO (NARITA) to HONG KONG
WED 28 DEC HONG KONG to BANGKOK
– Own arrangements
Flight back to Hanoi (can’t get there on the world ticket)
through Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia
WED 15 MAR SINGAPORE to CAIRNS
– Own arrangements
Upto Port Douglas, then travel south to Sydney to live for a few months.
THU 15 JUN SYDNEY to CHRISTCHURCH
– Travel around, working.
WED 13 SEP AUCKLAND to SANTIAGO,CHILE
– Head south
THU 14 SEP PUNTA ARENAS to BUENOS AIRES (INTERNATIONAL)
– Own arrangements
Upto Igacus Falls,
Through Paraguay, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador
SAT 16 SEP QUITO to LONDON (HEATHROW)
The last dates are wrong as they cannot be booked that far in advance, so I will have to amend them on the way round. One of the great things about that ticket is that you can move your dates around freely, so if you want to spend longer somewhere, you can!
So, the ticket’s been bought, the insurance is now sorted, and I’ve started my course of innoculations. So far yellow fever, heptitias A and Rabies. Didn’t feel too bad until I woke on saturday and realised I’d slept on that arm… Boy did it feel sore!
What’s next then? Well, going to sort out the visa’s and finance, and hopefully buy the rucksack and other equipement next weekend.
It’s getting very exciting now!
Right, back to the mountain of books I have to read (and trying to finish this website).
