Gotta love those stinger suitsA slightly calmer morning, and a long nights rest made the cornflakes a lot more manageable. We headed for a mooring in the shallow water near Hook Island, where we donned our stinger suit and snorkel gear, then jumped straight off the boat to head for the coral.

I was amazed by Saturday’s snorkeling, but this was far better! The fish were a lot friendlier, the water was clearer and there seemed to be a greater abundance of life. I could have stayed there forever, and can see why people fall in love with this place!

After lunch it was sadly time to end our 3 day ovyage and we headed home to Airlie beach, hoisting up 4 of the sails – sadly the main sail was slightly torn, so she didn’t go as fast as she could have.

Feeding timeWe arranged to meet up in a local bar that night with the crea and passengers, so we could see each other in our natural environments – and having finally hada nice, long, hot shower (2 min limit on the boat to freash water supplies).

Katie and Captain Tony were out drinking, but sadly the chef couldn’t make it. Everyone was on fine form, with Pete handing out awards (if you call a shot a reward). Naturally we had to give him an award as well, although by the look on his face, he doesn’t like flatliners very much!

All in all, it had been a fantastic trip and great party lasting into the small hours of the morning.
