The Duke (Chris – no-one knows why he’s called Duke), gave us an early morning wake up call when he arrived at the apartment, looking slightly travel beaten, but as pleased as we were when we arrived in Oz. He was to be the 3rd member of our expedition up the coast.

We all freshened up and headed into town to eat. Thankfully, the weather had decided to shine on us, and we made the most of it before we continued our journey.

Once I’d eventually managed to figure out the roads in Brisbane, we started on our way up to Noosa. Chris was clearly none the worse for his mammoth flight, and was on great form. I almost had to stop on a few occasions as I was laughing so hard!

Arriving in Noosa, we were very impressed. The books all described it as a fairly upmarket town, and they were right. Everywhere looked pretty clean, and when we found the hostel, realised even that was above average!

Love bird
Chris and Dan headed down to the beach, I headed to a bar to make some phone calls, and escape the hottest part of the day – hey, I did have sunburn again!

The hostel was great, with a good selection of people, although the guy sharing a room with us wasn’t very talkative. A night on the town made us want to stay a few more nights, especially Dan. But sadly, this was the only night we had there, so we made the most of it.
